Micheal enlisted the U.S.Army in Connecticut with service number # 20126728.

 

Michael was KIA during the Amphibious Landings on Lingayen Gulf, his LVT got shot on Feb. 19, 1945, Staff Sergeant Michael Accurso  is honored with a  Purple Heart, Bronze Star, Combat Action Ribbon, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal.

 

Michael  is buried/mentioned at Manila American Cemetery and Memorial  Manila, Metro Manila, National Capital Region, Philippines.
