Gerald entered  the Service from Altoona, Pennsylvania in Aug. 15, 1942 with servicenumber # 33250310.

 

(Gerald D. Acton rank/duty was a Private (A-Comp) in the 114th Engineer Combat Battalion.)

 

Gerald D. Acton was Killed in Action in/during an air raid in New Guinea (Saidor), on April 6, 1944, and he is honored with the Purple Heart.

 

And he is mentioned/buried at Manila American Cemetery and Memorial, Manila, Metro Manila,

National Capital Region, Philippines.
