James died defending Aleutian soil against the Japanese Occupation on Oct. 19, 1942, he is honored with the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, WW II Victory Medal.

 

James is buried/mentioned at Honolulu Memorial, Honolulu County, Hawaii U.S.A.
