Alphard was KIA during the Japanese Air Raid on Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941, he is honored with a Purple Heart, Combat Action Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, Expeditionary Medal, American Campaign Medal, Navy & Marine Presidential Unit Citation, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, WW II Victory Medal.

 

Alphard S. Owsley remains were identified by the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency. His name is permanently engraved in the World War II “Courts of the Missing” at the Honolulu memorial.

Alphard is also Mentioned at USS Arizona Memorial, Honolulu, Honolulu County, Hawaii, USA.

Alphard has also a Memorial Grave at Paris Cemetery, Paris, Bourbon County, Kentucky, USA.
