Ben died of his wounds sustained in the Firefights with the Japanese on Mt. Babag (Babag Ridge) on 15 April 1945, he is honored with a Purple Heart, Combat Infantry Badge, Marksman Ship Badge, Good Combat Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, Army Presidential Unit Citation, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, WW II Victory Medal.

 

Ben is buried/mentioned at Manila American Cemetery and Memorial Manila, Metro Manila, National Capital Region, Philippines.
