Edgar was KIA in the fights over a Japanese Bunker on March 3, 1945, he is honored with a Purple Heart, Combat Action Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal Marine Corps, Expeditionary Medal Marine Corps, American Campaign Medal, Navy & Marine Presidential Unit Citation, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, WW II Victory Medal.

 

Edgar is buried/mentioned at Manila American Cemetery and Memorial Manila, Metro Manila, National Capital Region, Philippines.

He also has a Memorial Grave at Mayflower Hill Cemetery, Taunton, Bristol County, Massachusetts, USA.
