Paulino died in Batan defending Philippine soil against the Japanese Occupation on April 20, 1942, he is honored with a Bronze Star Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal.

 

Paulino is buried/mentioned at Manila American Cemetery and Memorial  Manila, Metro Manila, National Capital Region, Philippines.
