Oscar was KIA when the Submarine (probably) was attacked by Air off the coast of Iwo Jima on April 18, 1944, Torpedo’s Mate Third Class Oscar A. Abbott is honored with a Purple Heart, Combat Action Ribbon, Submarine Enlistment Badge, Navy Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal.

 

Oscar is buried/mentioned at Honolulu Memorial Honolulu, Honolulu County, Hawaii, USA.
