Leon was KIA when the plane was under enemy flyers, engine on fire and lost speed and crashed in Sea on Sep. 11, 1943, Staff Sergeant Leon Abramcjik is honored with a  Purple Heart, Air Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal.
