Stanley was KIA while supporting the Iwo-Jima Invasion it was severely damaged by 2 Kamikaze planes on May 15, 1945,  is honored with a  Purple Heart, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal.

 

Stanley is buried/mentioned at Honolulu Memorial Honolulu, Honolulu County, Hawaii, USA.
