Alexader was KIA when they receive Enemy Gunfire that resulted in severe damage and Fire’ during the Battle of Cape Esperance on Okt. 12, 1942, Boatswain’’s Mate First Class Alexander B. Abugel is honored with a  Purple Heart, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal.

 

Alexander is buried/mentioned at Manila American Cemetery and Memorial  Manila, Metro Manila, National Capital Region, Philippines.
