Bataan Death March (April 9, 1942)

Tec4 Alberto Achevan became a POW and walked (60 miles) the Bataan Death March, Many walked this march (70.000 pow) and many died (aprox.600, lack of nutrition and water) to Prison Camps in the Philippines and he was send to Camp No Record, and became part of a work detail.

 

Aberto is born in the Philippines.

Alberto enlisted the U.S.Army in Philippines with service number # R3291138.

 

Alberto died as a POW in Camp. No record on June 12, 1942. Technician Fourth Grade Alberto Acevan is honored with a POW Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal.

 

Alberto is buried/mentioned at Manila American Cemetery and Memorial  Manila, Metro Manila, National Capital Region, Philippines.
