The Imperial Japanese began their Invasion in the Philippines on 8 Dec 1941.

The 57th resorted to fighting together among American and Filipino forces when compelled to surrender on 9 Apr 1942.

Tec4 Fortunado Acidillo became a POW and was imprisoned at Pow Camp no record, he survived the Bataan Death March.

 

Fortunado is born in the Philippines.

Fortunado enlisted the U.S.Army in Philippines with service number # 6738897.

 

Fortunado died as a POW in Camp. No record on Jan. 31, 1945. Tecnician Fourth Grade Fortunado Acydillo is honored with a POW Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal.

 

Fortunado is buried/mentioned at Manila American Cemetery and Memorial  Manila, Metro Manila, National Capital Region, Philippines.
