Calvin enlisted the service in Tennessee with service number # 7836550.

 

Calvin was KIA on-board the ship when its was hit by a Kamikaze during the Battle for Leyte Gulf, Philippine  on Oct. 30, 1944, he is honored with a  Purple Heart, Combat Action Ribbon, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal.

 

Calvin is buried/mentioned at Manila American Cemetery and Memorial  Manila, Metro Manila, National Capital Region, Philippines.
