Charles was KIA on 5 June, 1945 , he is honored with a  Purple Heart, Air Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Cluster, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal.

 

Charles is buried/mentioned at Manila American Cemetery and Memorial  Manila, Metro Manila, National Capital Region, Philippines.
