Douglas entered  the service from California with service number # 0-351244.

 

Douglas died on-board the USS Ommaney Bay when it was hit by a Kamikaze aircraft during the Battle in the Pacific , on Jan. 4,  1945, he is honored with a  Air Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal.

 

Douglas is buried/mentioned at Manila American Cemetery and Memorial  Manila, Metro Manila, National Capital Region, Philippines.
