Bataan Death March

(April 9, 1942)

Private Henry J. Adams became a POW an walked (60 miles) the Bataan Death March (together with 70.000 pow), Many walked this march and many died (aprox.600, lack of nutrition and water) to Prison Camps in the Philippines and was send to Camp No Record, and became part of a work detail.

Many Survived the March and the imprisonment, some died thereafter.

 

 

Henry was born  in 1919 in  County, Massachusetts.

 Henry entered  the service from Massachusetts with service number # 6146313.

 

 

Henry died in a Japanese POW Camp on July 10, 1942, he is honored with a  Purple Heart, POW Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal.

 

Henry is buried/mentioned at Manila American Cemetery and Memorial  Manila, Metro Manila, National Capital Region, Philippines.
