Pierce was KIA  when the Landing ship was Sunk after a Kamikaze attack near Okinawa, Japan, on May  25, 1945, he is honored with a  Purple Heart, Combat Action Ribbon, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal.

 

Pierce is buried/mentioned at Honolulu Memorial Honolulu, Honolulu County, Hawaii, USA.

Georgia, USA.
