Ransom died off his wounds sustained at during the Liberation of the Philippines , on May 30, 1945, he is honored with a  Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster, Bronze Star Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal.

 

Ransom is buried/mentioned at Manila American Cemetery and Memorial  Manila, Metro Manila, National Capital Region, Philippines.
