Bruce was born  on March 8, 1921 in Marion, Grant County, Indiana.

Mother, Ethel D. (Blair) Adkins.

Sister, Juanita A. Adkins.  

Brother, Robert J. and Joseph I. Adkins.

 

Bruce  entered  the Service from Indiana with service-number # 2916786.

 

 

Bruce was KIA when the USS Houston was attacked by numeros Japanese Planes and got hit at one of the Turrets in the Battle of Makassar Strait, on Feb. 4, 1942, he is honored with a  Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal.

 

Bruce is buried/mentioned at Manila American Cemetery and Memorial  Manila, Metro Manila, National Capital Region, Philippines.
