John died non Battle on Oct. 7, 1944, he is honored with a  Combat Infantry Badge, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal.

 

John is buried/mentioned at Manila American Cemetery and Memorial  Manila, Metro Manila, National Capital Region, Philippines.
