Richard was born  on Jan. 10, 1922 in Zanesville, Muskingum County, Ohio.

 

Father, Walter S. Adkins.

Mother, Iona J. Adkins.

 

Richard entered  the Service from Ohio with service-number # 6147385.

 

Richard was KIA  when the Japenese I-175 attacked the USS Liscome Bay at at Butaritari  Island and it Sunk on Nov. 24, 1943, he is honored with a  Purple Heart, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal.

 

Richard is buried/mentioned at Honolulu Memorial Honolulu, Honolulu County, Hawaii, USA.
