Brother, James C. Adkinson.

 

Charley enlisted the Army in Shreveport, Louisiana on Oct. 21, 1942 with service number # 38329806.

 

Charley’s rank/duty was a Private in the 383rd Infantry Regiment.

 

Charley R. Adkinson was Killed in Action during the Fights for Leyte, Philippines, on June 17,  1943 and he is honored with a Purple Heart, and Posthumous the Bronze Star Medal.

 

Charley is buried/mentioned at Manila American Cemetery and Memorial,
Manila, Metro Manila, National Capital Region, Philippines.
