Donald was KIA  when the Torpedo Boat “Sea Bitch”was Hit and  Sunk by a Enemy fighter off Leyte, Philippines, on Nov. 5,  1944, he is honored with a  Purple Heart, Combat Action Ribbon, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal.

 

Donald is buried/mentioned at Manila American Cemetery and Memorial  Manila, Metro Manila, National Capital Region, Philippines.
