George was KIA  in the Operation to seize kwajalein and the Majuro Atolls, Marshall Islands, on Jan. 30, 1944, he is honored with a  Purple Heart, Air Medal,  Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal.

 

George is buried/mentioned at Manila American Cemetery and Memorial  Manila, Metro Manila, National Capital Region, Philippines.
