Grey was KIA in the attack on Buna, Papua New Guinea on Dec. 31, 1942, he is honored with a  Purple Heart, Combat Infantry Badge, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal.


 Grey is buried/mentioned at Manila American Cemetery and Memorial  Manila, Metro Manila, National Capital Region, Philippines.
