Hubert during the Battle for Iwo Jima when the ship Sunk true two Kamikaze hits, on Feb. 21, 1945, he is honored with a  Purple Heart, Combat Action Ribbon, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal.

 

Hubert is buried/mentioned at Honolulu Memorial Honolulu, Honolulu County, Hawaii, USA.
