Donal died  on the flight from China to India and when the crashed north of Calcutta, on June 26, 1944, he is honored with a Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal.

 

Donal is buried/mentioned at Manila American Cemetery and Memorial  Manila, Metro Manila, National Capital Region, Philippines.
