James entered  the service from Indiana with service number # 6348736.

 

James was KIA during the typhoon Cobra in the Philippine Sea, when the ship Sunk, on Dec. 18, 1944, he is honored with a Combat Action Ribbon, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal.

 

James is buried/mentioned at Manila American Cemetery and Memorial  Manila, Metro Manila, National Capital Region, Philippines.
