Frank was KIA when the ship got hit by a Kamikaze strike near Leyte , on Oct. 30, 1944, he is honored with a Purple Heart, Combat  Action Ribbon, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal.

 

Frank is buried/mentioned at Manila American Cemetery and Memorial  Manila, Metro Manila, National Capital Region, Philippines.
