Alexander, Robert F.

Robert was born on June 28, 1920 in Malverin, Iowa.

 

Father, Frank Alexander.

Mother, Bessie Alexander.

Sister, Betty J. Alexander.

Brothers, Marion W. Donald H. and William C. Alexander.

 

Robert enlisted the service in Oregon with service number # 341666.

 

Robert was KIA when he landed the beaches of Iwo Jima and his tractor was hit by a shell, he and a other heavenly wounded Soldier where brought to the USS Cecil for treatment, but he died , on Feb. 19, 1945, he is honored with a Purple Heart, Combat Action Ribbon, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal.

 

Robert is buried/mentioned at Honolulu Memorial, Honolulu, Honolulu County, Hawaii, USA.

He also got a Memorial Grave at East Liberty Cemetery, Malvern, Mills County, Iowa, USA.
