Ross was KIA during the fights over Hill 505 in Luzon on April 10, 1945, he is honored with a Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster, Silver Star Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Combat Action Badge, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal.

 

Ross is buried/mentioned at Manila American Cemetery and Memorial  Manila, Metro Manila, National Capital Region, Philippines.
