Harold was KIA when a Kamikaze crashed on the ship during the 3rd Fleet Operations against Japan in the North Pacific and severe damaged the ship, on Aug. 9,  1945, Coxwain Harold M. Alfred is honored with a Combat Action Ribbon.

Honolulu County, Hawaii, USA.
