Robert died of his wounds sustained during the landing at Saipan on June 15, 1944, he is honored with a Purple Heart, Good conduct Medal(Maine Corps), American Campaign Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Marine Corps Expeditionary Medal,  Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, WW II Victory Medal.

 

Robert is buried/mentioned at Honolulu Memorial, Honolulu County, Hawaii U.S.A.

He also is Memorized at The American Memorial Parc in Saipan, Northern Marianas Islands.

He also has a Memorial Grave at Magnolia Cemetery, Magnolia, Pike County, Mississippi, USA.
