Murray entered  the service from Louisiana with service number # 18170549.

 

Murray E. Abbott was a Assistant Engineer in the 425th Bomber Squadron.

Murray was KIA when the plane never returned from their mission (probably crashed in the sea), on Dec.18, 1945, and he is honored with an Air Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Cluster, Purple Heart, Combat Action Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, Expeditionary Medal, American Campaign Medal, Navy & Marine Presidential Unit Citation, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, WW II Victory Medal.

 

Murray is buried at Manila American Cemetery and Memorial, Manila, Metro Manila,

National Capital Region, Philippines.
