Albert was KIA in the attack on bougainville he was shot down by a Japanese fighter and crashed in Sea on Feb. 22, 1944,  he is honored with a Purple Heart, Air Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, Expeditionary Medal Marine Corps, American Campaign Medal, Distinguished Unit Citation, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, WW II Victory Medal.

 

Albert is buried/mentioned at Manila American Cemetery and Memorial Manila, Metro Manila, National Capital Region, Philippines.
