Oliver was KIA on the mission they were Attacked by Japanese A6M-Zero’s, shot in the fuel tank and crashed in a mountain near Hong-Kong on June 1, 1943, he is honored with a Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, Distinguished Unit Citation, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, WW II Victory Medal.

 

Oliver is buried/mentioned at Manila American Cemetery and Memorial Manila, Metro Manila, National Capital Region, Philippines.
