Robert was KIA on the bombing mission to a Japanese Airfield, when they were shot by a Kawasaki 45, 3 Engine’s caught fire, the wings broke off and when they were heading for the water the plane broke in 2 on 20 June 1945, he is honored with an Air Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, Army Presidential Unit Citation, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, WW II Victory Medal.

 

Robert is buried/mentioned at Honolulu Memorial, Honolulu County, Hawaii U.S.A.
