John was buried/mentioned at Honolulu Memorial, Honolulu County, Hawaii U.S.A.

Through the work of the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency, the remains of Seaman 2nd Class John C. Auld, were accounted for in 2018. His name is permanently inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
