Barta, Emil Carl

Emil was born approx. on Jan. 3, 1913 in Ellsworth County, Kansas.

Father, James J. Barta.

Mother, Katherina (Jireck) Barta.

 

Emil enlisted  the service from Kansas with serial number 37006988.

 

Emil C. Barta was a Corporal (C-Company)in the 6th Infantry Regiment .

 

Emil was KIA during the raid on POW Camp Cabanatuan in the Philippines, on Jan. 31 1945, he is honored with a Silver Star Medal, Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, Army Presidential Unit Citation, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, WW II Victory Medal.

 

Emil is buried at Manila American Cemetery and Memorial, Manila, Metro Manila, National Capital Region, Philippines.
