Irvin was KIA in the fights over the Salacsac Pass, Luzon, on April 9, 1945, and he is honored with an Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster, Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, Army Presidential Unit Citation, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, WW II Victory Medal.

 

Irvin is buried at Manila American Cemetery and Memorial, Manila, Metro Manila,

National Capital Region, Philippines.
