Peter R. Fabiano was born approx. on 1921 in Winnebago County, Illinois.

Peter entered  the service from Chicago, Illinois in Nov. 12, 1940 with service number # 16003241.

 

Peter R. Fabiano was a Radio Operator (B-17) in the 42nd Bomber Squadron.

 

Peter’s crewmembers and their position onboard the B-17 were;

Peter was KIA after the Mission the formation turned right (eastward) toward Choiseul Bay, and were intercepted by several Zeros. The plane was shot down by Zeros over Bougainville and crashed into Shortland Harbor area, on Feb. 1, 1943, he is honored with an Air Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Distinguished Flying Cross,  Purple Heart, Silver Star Medal, Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, Army Presidential Unit Citation, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, WW II Victory Medal.

 

Peter is buried at Manila American Cemetery and Memorial, Manila, Metro Manila, National Capital Region, Philippines.
