Lee was KIA when after the Mission they were badly damaged and shot by Enemy Fighters that they had to ditch the plane, it crashed at sea on,  14 Jan. 1945, he is honored with an Air Medal, Purple Heart, Good Combat Ribbon, American Campaign Medal, Army Presidential Unit Citation, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, WW II Victory Medal.

 

Lee is buried/mentioned at Honolulu Memorial, Honolulu County, Hawaii U.S.A.
