Robert died in at Eure, France in a Train accident back from delivering the wounded from the front to the ships going to England on 10 April 1945, he is honored with a Good Conduct Medal, Combat Medical Badge, American Campaign Medal, Army Presidential Unit Citation, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, WW II Victory Medal.

 

Robert is buried/mentioned at Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial, Colleville-sur-Mer, Departement du Calvados, Basse-Normandie, France.
