The Imperial Japanese began their Invasion in the Philippines on 8 Dec 1941.

The 194th Tank Battalion resorted to fighting together among American and Filipino forces when compelled to surrender on 9 Apr 1942.

Second Lieutenant Hook became a POW and was imprisoned at Pow Cabanatuan, he survived the Bataan Death March, but died a few days before the great raid.

Oryoku Maru

The Hell Ship Oryoku Maru left Manila on Dec. 13, 1944 with 1619 POW onboard.

She was attacked by a plane from the USS Hornet several times.

On Dec. 15, 1944 she was at Subic Bay, and sunk.

Enounra Maru

The Hell Ship Enoura Maru left San Fernando/La Union on Dec. 27, 1944 with 1070 POW onboard.

She was attacked by a plane from the USS Hornet several times.

Enoshima Maru

The Hell Ship Enoshima Maru left Formosa for Moji, Japan were it arrived on Jan. 25, 1945 with 564 POW onboard.
