Robert enlisted the service in Indiana with service number # 6277316.

 

 

Robert was KIA when the engine(room) was hit by a Torpedo, detonated the ammunition witch exploded and the ship sank, off the Makin Atoll, Gilbert Island on Nov.24, 1943, he is honored with a Purple Heart, Combat Action Ribbon, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal.

 

Robert is buried/mentioned at Honolulu Memorial, Honolulu, Honolulu County, Hawaii, USA.
